(VIP Achiever Newsletter With Mind Architect, Tim Shurr) Over the past week, we've talked about The Intruder. The voice that predicts the worst. The voice that lies so convincingly because it sounds like you. The voice that whispers peace might come... someday. Or maybe it won't. The worries are always the same:
Different fears, same Intruder. And here's the trap: because that voice sounds exactly like you, you can't easily tell it apart from your own thinking. You're standing too close to it to see it clearly. That's not a character flaw — it's just how blind spots work. And blind spots are part of being human. You can't see your own face without a mirror. You can't read the label from inside the bottle. Our brains resist letting go of habits they've spent decades reinforcing. Often what keeps us stuck is the one pattern we genuinely can't see alone. That's why behavior shift faster when someone walks beside us. Not to fix us, not to tell us what to think, not to point out fault, but to help us recognize what's already true: Peace isn't waiting for your circumstances to change. It's available right now. And through finding peace, you’ll discover how to improve your circumstances. You may just need some help finding your way to it. A small practice: Return To Peace Step 1 — Name what The Intruder is saying. Step 2 — Come back to what's actually true right now. Step 3 — Imagine God sitting with you in this. That's the practice. Naming it, grounding it, and letting a perspective bigger than your own speak into it. But here's the truth: a temporary shift to peace won’t be sustainable until you upgrade the blind spot driving the fear, which is why I'm creating a space for us to hang out together. This Wednesday evening from 6pm-7pm EST, I'm hosting a free Zoom gathering called Return to Peace — no slides, no lecture. Just a space where we slow down, practice this together, and help each other access the peace that's possible right now, even with all of life’s uncertainty. Bring whatever surfaced today or whatever you’ve been carrying for awhile. You don't have to explain it or have anything figured out. Just show up and let’s walk some of this journey together. If your heart's telling you to do this, listen to it. I'll share more details on Tuesday. Until then, remember this: Peace isn't something you achieve by fixing your life first. It's something available now. You just need to find your way back to it. Tim Shurr, MA |

Hi Reader, Thursday, I told you about the hidden parking brake set in people’s brains. That invisible block that holds you back no matter how hard you press the gas. I’ve spent a long time trying to understand what actually creates those mental barriers to success, so that we can bust through them. Because here’s what never made sense to me: Why can two people have roughly the same intelligence, talent, ambition, and opportunity…yet one keeps moving forward while the other keeps getting...
Hi Reader, I’ve been thinking about Chutes & Ladders lately. Remember that game we played as kids? You’d climb the ladders, getting closer and closer to the top… Then you’d land on a chute that hurls you back toward the bottom…often right when you’re about to win. :( Life can feel like that sometimes. You work hard. You climb. You finally start getting somewhere. And then… Chute!(That’s the PG version of what most of us say in those situations.) Back down, sometimes almost to the beginning....
