Hi Reader, I’ve been thinking about Chutes & Ladders lately. Remember that game we played as kids? You’d climb the ladders, getting closer and closer to the top… Then you’d land on a chute that hurls you back toward the bottom…often right when you’re about to win. :( Life can feel like that sometimes. You work hard. You climb. You finally start getting somewhere. And then… Chute! Back down, sometimes almost to the beginning. I’ve lived that. And the hardest part wasn’t the setback. It was not knowing why I kept ending up there.
After nearly four decades of doing this work, I’ve come to believe the answer often isn’t more motivation, discipline, or effort. It’s usually a hidden parking brake set within us that we didn’t even know was there. And if you don’t know the brake is on, you can spend an awful lot of energy pressing harder on the gas and still not go anyway. That’s what got me thinking about The RESET. I’ve brought together three of my programs around one simple idea: Don’t add more. Remove what’s getting in the way. The RESET takes you through three stages: STUCK → STEADY → MOVING If you’ve been working hard but keep finding yourself back at the same place…there may be something more useful to look at than simply trying harder. If that idea hits home, take a look. You may recognize something you’ve been experiencing for years. :) Tim Shurr P.S. Sometimes the answer isn’t a bigger engine. Just release the brakes and avoid the next chute… |

[One Shift Away VIP Newsletter with Tim Shurr]Hi Reader, Are you responsible for everything that happens to you? Or, do you believe that destiny rules over your life? Or somewhere in between? I don’t claim to know the answer. However, I’ve observed that the beliefs we have about this do influence our well-being. For example, I’ve met some who’ve been led to believe that they have unconsciously attracted everything they’ve ever experienced into their lives because of karma, past lives, or deep...
(Tim Shurr Newsletter) Hi Reader, Your mind is constantly trying to protect you. That sounds like a good thing, and it is. But there’s a problem. A business problem that may never occur. A health concern you can’t control. A financial situation you’re afraid might get worse. A decision you’re worried you’ll...
