Hi Reader, For the past few months, something has been bothering me. I’ve been listening to intelligent, talented people share the same struggle in different words. “I’m exhausted.” “I’ve lost my edge.” “I know what to do, but I don’t do it.” “I don’t even recognize myself anymore.” At first, I thought they needed a new belief or to become You 2.0. But lately I keep wondering if it’s something even deeper. Most people don’t have a motivation or a confidence problem, which they often believe is the case. What they really have an identity issue. It’s as if an unwanted guest quietly moved into their mind years ago. Maybe it arrived through rejection, failure, or through a constant pressure to succeed. Or perhaps through shame, fear, or simply years of carrying responsibilities that slowly buried who they really were. Over time, that voice became so familiar they assumed it was their own. I’m calling it The Intruder. The Intruder whispers things like: “You’re not enough.” The tragedy is that too many of us spend our lives trying to improve The Intruder instead of recognizing it was never truly us to begin with. Real transformation doesn’t happen by becoming someone new. It happens by removing what never belonged there in the first place. Imagine a race car with the parking brake set. Should we build up the engine to move forward, or simply release that brake? Or imagine a bucket with a hole in the bottom. Should we keep adding water forever or is it smarter to patch the hole? I believe every one of us was created with incredible potential, purpose, and peace already inside us. Our greatest work isn’t adding more to ourselves. It’s uncovering the person we were designed to be before fear, pressure, and disappointment rewrote the script. This realization is changing how I teach, coach, and speak. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more about The Intruder, the hidden operating system software that quietly shapes our decisions, and how a single shift can begin restoring clarity, confidence, and deeper peace. I’d love to hear from you. When you notice that critical, fearful, or driven voice in your head, what does it usually say? Just hit reply and tell me. I read every response. Tim Shurr |

Hi Reader, I had one of those moments today where I just sat there kind of stunned. Normally, I’d use AI like this: “Help me update SEO on my website.” “Give me a list of meeting planners for nursing associations.” “Help me organize outreach.” Basic assistance. Useful, but still me doing most of the work. Today was different. For the first time, the platform started actually doing tasks instead of just helping me think through them. It felt like watching a small team of robots work while I...
Hi Reader, Yesterday I wrote about something I’ve had to remind myself of lately: Building isn’t selling. In a market like this, that distinction matters because when sales slow down, most people assume they have a lead generation problem. But that's often not the case. Instead, it's a sales rhythm constraint. Meaning, the activities that create revenue are not happening consistently enough. Here are 5 signs that reveal if this is true for you: 1. You know you should be reaching out more to...
Hi Reader, This message won’t be for everyone on my list. But if your income depends on creating sales conversations, this may be worth paying attention to. We are in a challenging market right now. People are more cautious. Buying decisions are taking longer. Prospects are distracted. Budgets are being watched more closely. And a lot of good people are working harder than ever and the ROI is not matching the effort. When that happens, the natural instinct is to create something new. A new...
